Eli is the pup we kept from our first litter; crossing Winslow and Luca.  He is biddable with enormous natural stock talent.  A great family dog, Eli is playful, good with small children, and is a respected protector.  He is a quick learner and has mastered formal obedience lessons with minimal training.  Intense and focused, he uses his instinct, agility and speed to keep his stock grouped, balanced, and under control; very much like his sire, Winslow. 

Eli is carrying on the tradition of his ancestors in the trial arena, too.  At just 2 years old, in his first trial (Aug 06, New Mexico), he won 3 silver belt buckles – Most Promising Started Aussie, Most Versatile Aussie and High in Trial - Ranch (Aussie).  Over the next fifteen months, he WTCH'd and qualified on all 3 stock for the ASCA 2007 Finals.  At his first Finals, he was 9th in sheep and 11th in ducks.  A very respectable 3 year old working dog.

Eli finished all of his ASCA Post-Advanced and Ranch Trial Dog titles before his 4th birthday and began competing in Novice Border Collie cattle trials.

This is a dog to watch!

~ a little bit about BC cattle trials  ~

    This was our first BC cattle trial. The cattle trials are points and time trials, which means the highest points for obstacles accomplished in the least amount of time wins. Unlike ASCA and AKC, you don't see the course until the day you arrive to trial and all of the obstacles are out in the open often in a pasture setting.  We started at the beginning level which is called Novice. Both dogs won cash prizes.
